In Turkey,the saying goes ”eat sweet ,talk sweet” The list of milk-based puddings (muhallebi) and vorious of  baklava ,halva ,and other tempting cakes and sweets are endles. They are enjoyed at any time of day…

Traditionally often a visit to the –muhallebici– pudding shop is to celebrate a special accasion, for young sweethearts. As  with most Turkish sweets,sutlac, Sutlac is rice pudding. 

A specialy ; the old villagers likes cook  the  puddings with bulgur..  

INGREDIENTS

3cups milk

2tablespoons  coarse bulgur

3tablespoons sugar

a pinch of salt

1tablespoon cornstrach

1tablespoon almonds ,finnely ground

strawberies and   pistachios ,finnely ground

MEDHOD

Put bulgur in a cup of water and cookover love heat until all water is absorbed.

Add the milk ,sugar,salt,  and simmer for 10 munites. 

Solve the cornstarch in 1/2cup water  and add  . Stirring constantly,cook for 15 munites until the consistency becomes thick and creamy. Remove  from heat and stir  in the almond extract and  graound almonds.

Pour  into individual serving  bowls and refrigerate   for  2-3 hours or  overnight.    Serve chilled, garnished any combination of gound pistachios  ,  or nuts  , 

 Mush some stawberies in 2tablespoon  sugar and serve  pudding on .. Or deep strawberies in honey and serve wedges..

You can have warm  for breakfast… ENJOY!
