Mushroom bulgur pilaf,  a nutty  and delicous dish, which is a meal  in itself  when served with    yogurt-cucumber salad ''cacik'' Or side dishes with a steak or turkey  breast steaks..

<strong>INGREDIENTS</strong>

For marinade of the steaks:

2-4 steaks or turkeybreast steaks

1/3cup apple vinegar

1/3cup red wine

2tablespoons olive oil

1teaspoon crushed black pepper

1onion , diced

<strong>For pilaf:</strong>

1cup coarse bulgur

3table spoons butter or oilve oil

1onion, diced

1cup sliced mushrooms

1cup diced red and green peppers

salt and black pepper to taste

2cups stock or water 

<strong>METHOD</strong>

Mix together  the onion, wine ,vinegar and pepper in a bowl. Place the marinade and let sit over night or at least 5 hours.

Cooking pilaf; Saute the in the butter over medium -high heat in a saucepan for 3munites , add the mushrooms and saute 5munites . Stir in the bulgur, add  salt and pepper, and add the stock or water. Cover and cook 15 munites.

Remove from heat and let stand for 1o munites.

Remove the steaks from the marinade . Grill them over medium -high heat for 4 to8 munites (optional)

Transfer the pilaf  to a plate and  arrange the steaks around  the pilaf.

<strong>NOTE:</strong> Bring marinade to boil  in a saucepan for 10munites. Add 1tablespoon butter and pour over  the steaks . (This last step is optinonal)
